Do you charge by the hour for your wedding magic?

Why I Charge by the Event, Not by Hour Unlike many magicians who operate on an hourly basis and are booked for specific time slots, I adopt a different approach.     My pricing is based on the entire event and the particular moments during the day when my presence is required. This method ensures that my service is flexible and dedicated to providing entertainment without the constraints of strict time limits.   The significance of this approach became apparent years ago at a wedding held at Skylark Golf & Club in Fareham, Hampshire.   I was scheduled to perform after the speeches into the evening, arriving promptly at pm as requested. However, I arrived to find the couple still engaged on the last course and speeches. While waiting outside, I saw another wedding supplier arrive and commented about their need to get in the room and only being booked until 9 pm, implying they might leave early if schedule did not suit them.   This incident highlighted a common issue with time-slot bookings: How would you feel if a supplier left prematurely because their time expires, regardless of whether their services are fully delivered? Such practices are unfair.   My commitment is to remain until my role is complete, ensuring that as many guests experience entertainment without interruption or concern about clocking out. This philosophy guarantees that my focus remains solely enhancing your special day without unnecessary restrictions. Many other magicians take additional bookings on the same day, I want to give 100% to my client and not let either person down, So I have an arrival time and whether your event is on schedule or not, I will begin when the moment is needed and continue on giving you peace of mind that I am not doing a vanishing act and going to another booking.   But I will be realistic with you, for an event with 50-150 guests I would say that approx 2 hours is adequate time for me to entertain that number.
